Brad Birch | midfield

Experienced box-to-box midfield man who joined the Pitmen from league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting in May 2021

Worcester-born Birch started his career as a junior at his hometown club, making his way through the youth system at St. Georges Lane to make a number of first-team appearances before leaving the club in the summer of 2015

Birch dropped down to step five of non-league to join Westfields for the start of the 2015-2016 season before moving to Bromyard Town and then on to Midland Football League Division One side Littleton in February 2016, where his form attracted the attention of clubs higher up the pyramid

In the summer of 2016, he trialled for Gary Hackett's Stourbridge side and did enough to earn himself a deal for the forthcoming Northern Premier League campaign. The midfielder's dynamic displays saw him establish himself in the Glassboys' team as they finished third in the league and qualifying for the play-offs, losing to Spennymoor Town in the final in May 2017

Birch elected to return to former club Worcester City - now in the Midland Football League after demotion - in June 2017 and was appointed as the club's new skipper for the following season. A successful season for the player saw him grab seven goals in twenty-seven games before he rejoined Stourbbridge - initially on dual-registration - in March 2018. He was part of the Glassboys side that beat the Pitmen 2-1 in the Birmingham Senior Cup Final in May 2018

After agreeing to a new permanent deal with Stourbridge in the summer of 2018, Birch once again became a fixture in the midfield as Stour finished third in their first season in the Southern Premier League Central. However, a long-term injury for the midfielder saw him miss the end of the season and was loaned out to Stourport Swifts at the start f the 2019-2020 season in a bid to gain match fitness

He was recalled after one game after Stourbridge had doubts about Stourport's ability to offer competitive football and instead loaned him to Worcester Raiders for a month instead, followed by a short loan back at Westfields

This was brought to a halt in December 2020 as Birch made the permanent move to Bromsgrove Sporting, where he failed to make a competitive appearance as the season was brought to a halt in February 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic

In May 2021, Birch was on the move again, as he joined the Pitmen ahead of the new season
