Former West Brom and Mansfield Town midfielder who joined the Pitmen in March 2022 after spending four years in the United States playing football

After starting as a junior at the Hawthorns, Smith moved to Mansfield Town in the summer of 2015 after a successful trial and was a regular in the Stags' youth team over the next two seasons, making his one and only first-team appearance as a substitute in an F.A. Cup tie against Oldham Athletic in November 2015

At the expiry of this Mansfield deal at the end of the 2016-2017 season, Smith headed to Iowa in the United States on a scholarship, joining Hawkeye Community College Redtails in his first season in the country

In 2019, he made the move to Texas and joined St. Mary's College in San Antonio, where he lined up for St. Mary's Athletics for the season, making twenty-one appearances and scoring once

The following year, Smith returned to Iowa to join Upper Iowa Peacocks, with his time at the college affected by the coronavirus pandemic. His final season at the college saw him make seventeen starts, scoring four times before returning to the UK early in 2022

He joined the Pitmen in March 2022, subject to International clearance, ahead of the club's home game against Stratford Town. He had to wait a couple of weeks to make his debut for the club, starting the 2-1 defeat at Banbury United
