A former trainee at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Jones left Molinueux as a youngster to link up with Shrewsbury Town and signed his first professional contract with the Shropshire club in October 2015. After a handful appearances for the Shrews, mainly from the bench, he was loaned out to National League side Tranmere Rovers in September 2016, where he made a similar number of appearances in a two month loan spell

After returning to Shrewsbury, Jones was loaned out to Evo-Stik Premier League high-flyers Stourbridge in February 2017, impressing during his fifteen games at the Amblecote with five goals to help the Glassboys to a third-placed finish

At the end of the 2016-2017 season, Jones was released by Shrewsbury and moved to Vanarama National League side Southport after a successful loan spell where he was to make eight appearances in three months before returning to the Midlands to link up with Halesowen Town

A four month spell at the Grove came to an end in February 2018 with a move to Welsh Premier League side Newtown, where Jones was to enjoy his most consistent spell of football to date as he made over twenty appearances in twelve months over the border. this came to an end exactly a year to the day later, as he signed for the improving Pitmen , who were still nervously looking over their shoulders in the fight to avoid relegation from the Evo-Stik Premier League

Jones was to make only one substitute appearance for the side against Marine, before leaving the club and linking up with Evesham Town for a short spell. Jones ended the season back in the Northern Premier League, playing for Stafford Rangers for a short spell towards the end of the 2018-2019 campaign

The summer of 2019 saw Jones return to step four Halesowen Town, starting the new season with the Yeltz but finding injuries a burden to his progress. He returned to step three in November 2019 with a move to struggling Alvechurch, playing only one game for the Church before returning to Keys Park a month later ahead of the Pitmen's home league game against Stratford Town
