The son of Aston Villa and England player Tony Morley, Joe joined the Pitmen's youth set-up the previous season after a spell with the Stafford Rangers U18 and U21 development side and impressed sufficiently to be called into the first-team picture in August 2021, making his debut as a late substitute in the Pitmen's 1-0 win at Alvechurch later that month
