The Pitmen failed to follow up on Saturday's fine victory at play-off chasing Merthyr Tydfil as a goal in each half from Gloucester's Lee Smith condemned the away side to defeat at Meadow Park this evening

Gloucester manager .. looked for a response from his side to that defeat ay Aylesbury by making two changes to the side for tonight's game as Marvin Thompson replaced Chris Burns and Keith Knight came in for Jimmy Cox

After the despondent defeat at Aylesbury on Saturday the Tigers returned to action in this re-arranged fixture against the Pitmen, who, legend has is just cannot win away in midweek. Their run continued tonight thanks to two Lee Smith goals, the first a header on the stroke of half time and the second a superb half volley from the edge of the penalty area to give City three priceless points.
