James Hill | Midfield

Former Crewe Alexandra midfielder who joined the Pitmen in October 2021 from AFC Wulfrunians

A UEFA 'B' Licence holder whose day job involves working with Aston Villa's youngsters alongside fellow Hednesford man Josh Webb, Hill is a former member of the famous Crewe academy, spending two years as a professional at Gresty Road before being released and joining Stourbridge

With his studies taking precedent, Hill dropped down to the Midland Football League in the 2017-2018 to join Stourport Swifts for a short spell, before joining Team Dudley in the summer of 2018. He spent the next two seasons playing for the West Midland (Regional) Division One side, splitting his time between college and playing for the club, whom he captained during the 2019-2020 campaign

With the season ended early and voided due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hill was on the move during the summer of 2020, returning to step five Stourport for the season. He scored a superb goal against Coventry United in October 2020 but it once again proved to be a short-lived campaign as the season was brought to a halt and subsequently voided due to the pandemic again

He made the short switch to league rivals AFC Wulfrunians just before the start of the 2021-2022 campaign and started the season in great form, scoring six goals from twelve starts and prompting the Pitmen to bring the neat-passing midfield man ahead of their home game against Hitchin Town
