Young attacking midfielder who joined Hednesford from Redditch United in September 2023

Dutch-born Abbey - the younger brother of South Shields player Jed - was a trainee at Wolves from a young age, playing in the U18 side during the 2019-2020 season as a first-year professional before being released in May 2020

Abbey made the move to AFC Telford United in July 2020, joining the Bucks' U18 side initially before stepping up into the first team at the start of the 2021-2022 season. He was loaned out to Southern Premier League Central side Barwell at the start of the campaign, making a handful of appearances for the Leicestershire side in August 2021 before returning to Telford

A similar loan spell at Rushall Olympic followed in October 2021, with the youngster spending a month at Dales Lane where he made three starts for the Pics alongside future Hednesford manager Danny Glover.  He was immediately loaned out to Shifnal Town, where he made nine starts and scoring three times

At the end of his term at Telford, Abbey was released in the summer of 2022 and joined Shifnal on a permanent deal in July. He was to enjoy a superb season for the Midland Football League side alongside Sam Griffiths and Jack Kelly, making thirty-four appearances and scoring thirteen goals to end the season as the club's young player of the year

His form for Shifnal had caught the eye of step three teams once more, with Redditch making a move to bring the player to the Valley Stadium in June 2023. He made a handful of appearances for the Reds at the start of the 2023-2024 season before electing to make the switch to Keys Park ahead of the Pitmen's F.AS. Trophy tie at home to Walsall Wood
