PLAYER BIO

Hugely talented midfield man who joined the Pitmen from Vanarama National League South side Havant & Waterlooville in June 2024

A box-to-box midfielder with a penchant for grabbing important goals, Welshman Spence started his career at Cardiff City, earning his first professional deal with the Bluebirds in July 2018. In his first season playing for the U19 side, he earned the club's academy player of the year award. In September 2019, Spence was loaned to local side Barry Town United for three months in a bid to gain valuable first-team experience for the Cymru Premier side. Spence also earned a first-ever call-up to the Wales U21 side in September 2019, going on to earn himself nine caps over the next three years

After being released by Cardiff at the end of the 2019-2020 season, the youngster joined Premier League side Crystal Palace on a two-year deal, playing fifteen times for their U23 side throughout the 2020-2021 season. In July 2021, he was loaned to League Two side Bristol Rovers on a season-long deal, making his professional debut in an EFL Cup game against Cheltenham Town in September and going on to make twelve starts for Joey Barton's side, who clinched promotion to League One with a third-placed finish

Spence remained in the West Country after his Crystal Palace deal came to an end, signing for Vanarama National League North side Gloucester City in August 2022. After Steve King arrived as manager in October 2022, Spence was in impressive form with six goals in nineteen starts for the club, including a strike in the Tigers' play-off quarter-final defeat to Brackley Town in May 2023

Spence remained in the National League North with a move to King's Lynn Town in the summer of 2023, making a dozen starts at the Walks before being reunited with King at National League South strugglers Havant & Waterlooville in October 2023

Despite significant interest from elsewhere in the football pyramid for the player, Spence was brought to Keys Park by now-Hednesford manager King in June 2024 to add quality to the midfield ranks
