PLAYER BIO

A talented attacking midfielder who joined the Pitmen from league rivals Newcastle Town in February 2024

Manchester-born but having represented Wales at youth level, Edwards joined Salford City as a youngster, signing a professional contract in the summer of 20129 but failed to make a first-team appearance before being released in February to join League of Wales side Airbus UK

However, soon after his switch across the border, the coronavirus pandemic brought the season to an immediate halt and also limited Edwards to a handful of appearances at the start of the 2020-2021 season before being brought to a halt once more

July 2021 saw Edwards make the move down the coast to Colwyn Bay, now established in the League of Wales set-up after making the move from English non-league football in 2019. He was used mainly as a substitute for Bay as they ended up finishing 6th in Cymru North. Edwards had departed the club by this point and had joined the newly-formed Rhyl 1879 in a short-term deal until the end of the season

A move to Cefn Druids was Edwards' next stop in September 2022, where he was a regular for the newly relegated Cymru North side with seventeen starts and three goals for the Ancients

Edwards returned to England for the first time in four years with a move to Newcastle Town in August 2023 but found starts hard to come by for the Stoke-based outfit with only nine appearances overall. Manager Paul Moore - the man who had signed Edwards in the summer for Newcastle - had now been appointed as Hednesford manager and elected to bring the midfielder to Keys Park in February 2024
