Exciting, pacy left winger who joined the Pitmen in November 2023 from local rivals Walsall Wood

A former trainee at Stoke City, Birmingham-born Verma signed his first professional deal at the Bet 365 Stadium in July 2019, playing for the Potters' U18 side for the next two seasons. He made twenty-four appearances in the U18 Premier League during 2020-2021, scoring once, before surprisingly being released in May 2021

Despite interest from elsewhere, Verma dropped to step five of non-league football with a move to Oak Park, linking up with the ambitious Wood for their Midland Football League campaign. Under Harry Harris's management, Verma became Wood's star turn with a string of outstanding displays as Wood earned themselves promotion as champions at the end of the season, scoring fifteen times in thirty-four starts

Verma's form continued into the early part of the 2023-2024 season as he took the step up in quality with ease, producing more superb displays including a brilliant performance against the hapless Pitmen in Wood's F.A. Trophy win at Keys Park in September 2023. His form saw scouts flocking to Oak Park once more, with several higher-league teams keeping tabs on the youngster

Harris's departure from Wood in October 2023 saw several of his former players linked in the press with a move to Keys Park to reunite with their ex-boss, with Verma the first of his former charges to make the move in November 2023
