PLAYER BIO

Experienced step three performer who joined the Pitmen in December 2023 from local rivals Stafford Rangers

East Midlander Carvell started as a junior at local side Derby County from a young age, playing for the Rams' U18 side in 2015-2016 before leaving in the summer of 2016 to join Barnsley, where he was a regular player in their U23 side in 2017-2018 with fifteen appearances

In the summer of 2018, Carvell made the move to the USA and joined Oregon State for a short spell, playing three times for the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association side before returning to Barnsley six months later

After being released in the summer of 2019, Carvell returned to the East Midlands as he trialled for, and earned a deal with Northern Premier League side Basford United. The coronavirus pandemic was to put paid to both of Carvell's seasons at Greenwich Avenue as both the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons were both voided

Carvell made the short switch to Ilkeston Town for the 2021-2022 season and was used mainly as a substitute for the Robins throughout the campaign as they clinched the Northern Premier League Midland title and promotion to step three

Carvell took the opportunity to move to step three with a different club at the start of the 2022-2023 season with a move to Southern Premier League central side Barwell. After a handful of appearances at Kirkby Road, Carvell moved to Yorkshire as he returned to step four to see the season out with Ossett United

A return to step three was in the offing in the summer of 2023 as he earned himself a contract with newly-relegated Kettering Town after a successful trial period at Latimer Park. However, after only three appearances for the Southern Premier League Central new boys, Carvell returned to the Northern Premier League with a move to Stafford, where he was used mainly as a substitute before Harry Harris moved to bring the midfield man to Keys Park
